Here's the list of upcoming deadlines for documentary photography contests, grants and festival submissions in the next 10 days:

 

Jan 8 - WMA Commission

The WMA Commission invites entries for proposals from artists and photographers from both Hong Kong and the international community, to create new research based photography work in Hong Kong, focusing on the theme of TRANSITION. Project proposals must contextually relate to both the theme MOBILITY and to HONG KONG. - Free entry.

Jan 11 - The Sony World Photography Awards – Professional

The winner is chosen each year by the Honorary Jury from among the first place winners of all the Professional categories. In addition to the main prizes, all winning and shortlisted photographers will be included in a global press campaign, featured across the World Photography Organisation website and exhibited at Somerset House, London in the Spring. - Free entry.

Jan 15 - Days Japan - International Photojournalism Awards 2018

Photographs must have been taken in the two-year period between January 2016 and December 2017. Submitted works may be photo essay up to 15. Please make sure that all works include a short biography (about 100 words) of the photographer and that the application form includes: title of work; captions (maximum 50 words per caption); location; date of shooting; along with the photographer’s name, address, e-mail address and telephone number. - Free entry.

Jan 15 - Flash Forward 2018

Flash Forward 2018 will be an emerging photographers competition for ALL photographers (34 years-of-age or under, as of December 31, 2017), in all forms of photography, from all over the world, with 4 additional areas of special interest: – Racial Issues – Climate and the Environment – LGBTQ Issues – Female-identifying Photographers. - Paid entry.
